Completing the Green Label (CN22 / Pos 401G)

Customs  declaration form (CN22/ Pos 401G)

To facilitate customs clearance, please complete all applicable fields in this form in English (preferably) or in a language accepted by the origin and destination. If the content of the fields does not fit in the space available, please use Form CN 23 (Pos 401C) instead. The sender's full name and address must be stated on the front side of the packet.

For commercial items, please complete the fields marked with an asterisk (*) (i.e. E&F) and attach an invoice to the outside of the packet to assist Customs in processing the item.

A. Select a reason for export. ("Gifts (non-commercial)" is not an acceptable reason for export for commercial items.) An item is considered to be commercial in nature if there is a financial transaction between the sender and addressee associated with it. "Commercial sale of goods (B2B)" is to be used only for items sent from one business to another business. "E-commerce goods" is to be used only for items sent as a result of an online (B2C) transaction.

B. Give a detailed description (generic descriptions such as "clothes" are not acceptable), quantity and unit of measure for each article, e.g. two pieces of men's cotton shirts.

C. & D. Give the total weight and total value with currency for each article (line item), e.g. HK$ for Hong Kong dollars. If no currency is specified, the declared value will be denominated in Hong Kong dollars.

E. The HS tariff number (8-digit) must be based on the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System developed by the World Customs Organization.

F. "Origin of goods" means the country/region where the goods originated, e.g. were produced, manufactured or assembled.

G. & H. Give the total value, indicating the currency, and total weight of all articles (line items).

I. The sender will be held liable for the mail item once he/she has provided his/her signature and the date on this declaration.

Remarks:

To clear any items, the customs in the destination need to know what the contents are. Sender must therefore complete Sender's declaration fully, accurately and legibly. Otherwise delay and inconvenience may be caused for the addressee. Moreover, a false, misleading or incomplete declaration may lead, for instance, to the seizure of the package.

It is also Sender's responsibility to enquire into import and export regulations (prohibitions, packaging method etc.) and to find out what documents, if any (certificate of origin, health certificates, invoices, etc.), are required in the destination and to attach them to this form.

The general terms in the contents, such as "foodstuffs", "samples", "spare parts", etc., are not permitted.

The sender’s signature on the customs declaration serves as confirmation that the posted mail item does not contain any dangerous or prohibited articles as stipulated by international postal regulations. This includes explosive, flammable, corrosive, oxidizing, toxic, harmful, or any other hazardous items.

Sender should be aware of the latest requirement of documents and customs clearance procedures stipulated by customs in the destination. The customs in the destination may withhold and / or impose customs duties on any postal items as they consider lawful under the law of their own country. It is the responsibility of the senders / addressees to provide all the required documents for customs clearance of the postal item or arrange broker service if necessary. The customs in the destination will not inform the postal administrations, i.e. Hongkong Post, of the customs clearance information concerning the postal items.
