Effective from March 1, 2023, the European Union (EU), Switzerland and Norway have implemented a new security and safety programme requiring all inbound and transit air mails containing goods to undergo preliminary pre-departure customs assessment at the origin of posting. Please submit accurate electronic customs declaration for the customs assessment.

Senders are required to provide a local mobile phone number or email address that can receive SMS messages or emails issued by Hongkong Post on the request by destinations or relevant customs authorities related to customs clearance of the mail items. Senders shall check your SMS messages or emails for 1 to 2 days upon posting and take follow up action if required. Hongkong Post will not embed hyperlinks in the related SMS messages or emails requesting for any personal information. How to use the serviceOpen/collapse

1. Apply to the Postmaster General (Hongkong Post Building, 8 Wang Kee Street, Kowloon Bay, Kowloon) beforehand to use the permit mail service.
2. Register the titles of the publication with the Financial Services Division of Hongkong Post prior to posting.
3. Prepare the bulk posting statement on the “EC-Ship” on-line portal (ec-ship.hongkongpost.hk)
4. Collect postal stationery, i.e. mail bags and bag labels from the bulk acceptance offices to prepare mail for posting.
5. Post items at a designated bulk acceptance office, i.e. General Post Office or Central Mail Centre.

6. Make payment either through a Hongkong Post deposited account or in cash, EPS or cheques (by prior arrangement with the Director (Finance)) at the time of posting.
7. You will receive a transaction summary receipt after posting.
