For local and inward parcels, the addressee is required to pay a demurrage charge if the parcel is not collected within the first 7 working days after the issue of the Notification of Collection of Parcel (Pos 407/3) (The charge is $2.7 per item per day counting from the day following the free retention period with a minimum charge of $22, except for returned parcels). The Post Office will then issue the Reminder Notification of Collection of Parcel (Pos 407A/2) to remind the addressee to collect the parcel. Upon the issue of Pos 407/3, local parcels will be retained for 14 working days.
Inward parcels (including returned parcels) will be kept for two months from the issue date of the first notification card. The parcels will be available for collection at a designated post office within one month from the issue date of the first notification card. If the parcels are not collected at the designated post office within the first month of the retention period, please contact us within the second month of the retention period at 2573 1234 and provide (1) Item no. and (2) Reference no. to make an appointment to collect the parcels at Kowloon Bay Post Office (will be available for collection after 2 to 3 working days).
If collection is not made within the retention period as indicated on the notification card, the item will be returned to the sender (if applicable) or regarded as an undeliverable item and disposed of in accordance with relevant procedures.
