Given the sustained weak economies of the US and the EU in 2012/13 as well as customers’ preference for lower-cost shipping solutions for their online purchases, the Speedpost market was under pressure last year. To stimulate service demand, we launched a number of promotional activities, including a Heavyweight Reward promotion campaign and promotions targeting hotel guests, overseas/mainland students in Hong Kong and local students studying abroad.
The JOY Pack, a brightly-coloured carton box designed to carry content up to 3 kg, was launched in August 2012. The new product gives customers an additional packaging choice.
The dedicated Speedpost website (www.speedpost.hk) has been revamped to enhance user-friendliness, especially for first-time users. Apart from new features to facilitate easier search of online information, customers can now prepare posting forms online.
