Local Mail Business

Our local mail business faces a number of challenges. These include the accelerating trend of e-substitution, particularly in the financial services sector, engagement of alternative delivery agents by businesses, and increasing public awareness of environmental protection and privacy issues which have affected the growth of direct mail business. To counter these negative impacts, we have been working on a number of initiatives to grow local mail traffic.

Direct Mail

There was business growth in our unaddressed direct mail service, Hongkong Post Circular Service (HKPCS), in 2012/13. We will continue to promote the HKPCS, which has been proved to be a very cost-effective marketing tool.

e-Post

The e-Post service provides an integrated one-stop solution embracing database management, printing and mail delivery. Our major clients include corporations in the financial services and telecommunications sectors. We are taking steps to broaden the customer base.

The “Make My Card” Service, launched in 2011/12, was enhanced in 2012/13 with more card varieties featuring popular characters and including card designs by prominent local designers.

Local CourierPost

To cater for customers who may not be available at home to receive mail items, we have launched a new counter collection service at our network of post offices for customers to pick up Local CourierPost items. Email notification is a new service feature which meets the needs of internet traders.
