Hongkong Post remains committed to delivering high quality service across the spectrum of its business.
We have continued to maintain an efficient and extensive retail network, despite the adverse effects of the increase in usage of communications technologies. Much of our focus has been on improving the portfolio of our products and services so as to form a platform for future growth. We are also simplifying procedures and enhancing product features across our retail services to meet the changing needs of customers.
Counter services have been enhanced with the launch of self-service postal kiosks on a trial basis at the eCentre, Hennessy Road Post Office and Tuen Mun Central Post Office. The postal kiosk offers a one-stop shop service for customers to weigh mail items, assess the relevant postage and print postage labels.
Other new services introduced during the year include an extension of the e-Remittance service on behalf of Western Union to the Cloud View Road, Happy Valley, Repulse Bay and Sai Ying Pun post offices; extension of the Trade Declaration Counter Collection Service to the Gloucester Road, Wan Chai and Fanling post offices; and the extension of the use of postage labels to the Granville Road, Tai Po, Tai Kok Tsui, Shek Wu Hui, Kwai Fong, Aberdeen, Kowloon Bay, Mong Kok and Yuen Long post offices, which offers greater convenience for bulk mailers.
Hongkong Post is committed to providing a comprehensive network of easily accessible post offices across the territory. The re-opening of the Causeway Bay Post Office in January 2011 brought the total number of post offices up to 128. Meanwhile, a comprehensive programme of upgrades and renovations has been completed at seven other post offices.
