Corporate Overview

Hongkong Post successfully evolved from a traditional postal service provider into a forward-looking, customer-focused and market-oriented trading fund government department in 1995. It has been a challenging transition which continues to see us adapting to a new market environment brought about by the digital age.

In 2010/11, we have rejuvenated post offices, refined the Hongkong Post Circular Service and expanded the agency services we undertake on behalf of government departments. In the e-commerce area, we have reformed our online shopping and e-shipment platforms to facilitate and support companies and individuals alike. The EC-Ship Service, launched last year, is an example of a successful initiative shaped specifically for internet traders, facilitating shipping procedures and declarations and, at the same time, enabling them to monitor delivery history more easily.

Given today's almost borderless commercial environment, our partnerships with other postal administrations are of prime importance. We will continue to nurture bilateral relationships with other postal administrations and move the postal business forward at both regional and global levels.

Over the past 170 years, the postal services in Hong Kong have sustained and developed business in Hong Kong while embracing change. By shaping our services to meet changing customer demand, we will remain a core service provider to Hong Kong society and a vital link to the world.
