New and expanded services
Hongkong Post’s Speedpost service has a worldwide coverage of over 210 destinations. The service is widely used by both individuals and businesses for its convenience, value-for-money and reliability. In 2009/10, we launched several new initiatives to expand its range of services, while also engaging in high-profile sponsorship activities that have further cemented the Speedpost brand in the minds of the public.
- Extension of “Next Working Day Delivery” service to Asian Destinations
Speedpost continues to extend the “Next Working Day Delivery” service to more Asian destinations. The latest development was the implementation of the “Next Working Day Delivery” service with Vietnam Post to cover Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, which came into operation in August 2009. The “Next Working Day Delivery” service now covers key cities in the Mainland of China, Macao, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Vietnam.
- “EC-Post” Service to the Mainland of China
In a further move to tap into the burgeoning e-commerce market, we launched the “EC-Post” service in October 2009, which is specially designed for e-traders. The service offers special rates to account customers sending items not exceeding two kilograms to addresses within a specified range of postal codes in the Mainland of China. This has proved popular with e-traders looking to expand their businesses at low cost into new markets in the cities and provinces of Guangdong, Fujian, Sichuan, Chongqing, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Beijing, Shandong and Tianjin.
Promotional and sponsorship activities
- China Total Solution Advertising Campaign and Lucky Draw Promotion
In conjunction with the introduction of a series of new services to the Mainland of China, we launched a China Total Solution Advertising Campaign in May 2009, which emphasised the value of Speedpost for customers doing business in the Mainland of China. To further stimulate traffic, we launched a three-phase lucky draw for all Speedpost users between August and November 2009. This not only generated additional revenue for Speedpost but also increased brand awareness.
- Official Courier for the Hong Kong 2009 East Asian Games
Hongkong Post was one of the sponsors of the Hong Kong 2009 East Asian Games, and Speedpost was designated the official courier of the Games in December 2009. During the period, Speedpost successfully supported the East Asian Games by delivering over 100 athletes’ samples to Beijing with same day delivery. As the official courier, the Speedpost brand logo was widely visible during the Games, resulting in enhanced Speedpost brand awareness.
