Driver

Major Responsibilities:

  1. To drive postal vehicles (including but not limited to 5.5-16 tons light-goods and medium-goods vehicles) for collection and despatch of mail items;
  2. To load and unload mail items, including operation of tail lift of postal vehicles;
  3. To clean postal vehicles, perform parking duties and support mail delivery work;
  4. To perform simple clerical work and complete vehicle usage report; and
  5. To undertake duties assigned by seniors.

Notes:

  1. Required to wear uniform and work outdoors.

Entry Requirements:

  1. Completed Secondary 3, or equivalent; capable of reading and writing simple Chinese and English;
  2. Applicants are required to pass a fitness test of lifting a mail bag from one place to another;
  3. With valid driving licenses for private car (code 1), light goods vehicle (code 2), private light bus (code 4) and medium goods vehicle (code 18);
  4. At least 5 years of full-time working experience in driving field, preferably to have experience in driving private light bus and medium goods vehicles (Documentary proof of relevant experience is required);
  5. Familiar with the roads and streets of Hong Kong districts;
  6. Experience of operating tail lift is preferred; and
  7. Only the recommended applicants who can pass the driving test conducted by the Government Logistics Department and get the Government Driving Permit (G.F.8) will be employed.

  1. Rest days, statutory holidays, annual leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted on terms not less favourable than the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
  2. For monthly-rated employees, an end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon completion of the contract with satisfactory performance and conduct.  Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme, will be equal to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
