Before sending a mail item, it is advised to check:
☑ if sender’s address is written
☑ correct addressee’s mailing address
☑ sufficient postage
Write the sender's name and address in the top left-hand corner on the front of the envelope or on the back of the envelope to facilitate the return of undeliverable mail.
Postmen rely on the address on the mail to deliver it to the addressee. Please print or write the mailing address clearly and accurately.

To make mail sorting a much more efficient task for our mechanized letter sorting system, please print or write the address within the address zone as shown below:
Remark: Postcode system is not in place in Hong Kong. If it is required to input postcode of Hong Kong at website(s), you may leave the field blank or try to fill in with "000", "0000", "000000" or "HKG" which are frequently used by others nowadays.
It is important for the addressee's address to be written in a language that can be understood by both the local and non-local postal staff.. The address should be written legibly in Roman letters and Arabic numerals. The address may be written in the language of the country of destination but the city and country names must be written in ENGLISH. Include a postal code, if any.
An address written in Chinese characters is acceptable for local mail as well as the mail sending to The Mainland, Macao and Taiwan.
You may refer to the Post Office Guide for more information on the posting requirements of non-local postal administration. The Post Office Guide is available at all Post Offices and the Hongkong Post website.
